I enjoyed the meet cute, but the story quickly dissolved from there.
Adeline is your typical widow that had a bad first marriage and never wants to marry again. It’s a character type that’s been done over and over again and this story didn’t add anything new or different to it.
Probably my biggest problem with this story that made it a tedious read was the insta-lust Adeline and Lyon felt for each other. Barely 10% in they were thinking about how attractive the other was. Makes for a boring and slow read for me. Enemies to lovers only really works if the hero and heroine are actually enemies for more than a few pages.
